As a part of its ongoing effort to help educate its members about retirement, the New Hampshire Retirement System (NHRS, the retirement system) has created an online presentation and FAQ for new members called “Learning About Your Retirement Plan.”

These materials are also intended to serve as resources for HR/Personnel managers, who are encouraged to share this material with new employees during their orientations.

We realize that thinking about retirement may not be at the top of a member’s to-do list early in their career, but we encourage everyone to take a little time to understand the advantages of their NHRS membership and the benefits available to them or their loved ones.

Some of the items covered include:

• How the NHRS plan is different from other retirement plans,
• Contributions and interest,
• The types of retirement offered, and
• How the retirement system can benefit you at retirement.
