CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Retirement System (NHRS, the retirement system) continuously looks for ways to better serve its membership. As a part of this effort, the retirement system has made upgrades to its website so members can now apply for service or vested deferred retirement benefits online; and retirees now have the option to have their pension payments deposited directly into more than one account.

Apply for Retirement 24/7

Members can now apply for service or vested deferred retirement through the retirement system’s online member portal, My Account. It's now easier than ever to apply for your pension. Better yet, you can apply from the comfort of your home at a time most convenient for you.

To start your online application, simply go to www.nhrs.org and click on “My Account Login” to access your NHRS account. The application can be found under the “NHRS On-Line Forms” button on the left side of your account screen. Printable instructions and links to related forms are accessible from the application. After you submit your retirement application online, NHRS will review your application and contact you if more information is needed. If you haven’t used My Account yet, it’s easy to sign up. Visit the retirement system website at www.nhrs.org and click on “Sign Up for My Account.”

Electronic Direct Deposit Now Available for Multiple Accounts

Pension recipients who take advantage of electronic direct deposit (EDD) now have the option to have their benefit payment deposited in up to three separate bank accounts. EDD users must choose a primary account, but they may also designate either a dollar amount or percentage of the benefit that will be automatically deposited monthly in each additional account.

Pension recipients can update their electronic direct deposit information through My Account or by submitting a paper form available here.

More than 90% of retirees and beneficiaries receiving a pension take advantage of the convenience and security of electronic direct deposit.
