Software Transition Causing Delays

NHRS is currently transitioning to a new version of its pension administration software, which has led to anticipated delays in some processes and transactions.

Our ability to prepare benefit estimates, finalize preliminary benefits, and process member contribution refunds and service purchases within our normal timeframes has been impacted by the transition to the new software.

In addition, we are experiencing longer turnaround times for the following functions: demographic changes, tax withholding changes, beneficiary changes, confirmation of pre-selection status, and review and setup of qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs).

We are working to eliminate the backlog and complete all processes in a timely manner.

While our previous software served us well, it had been in operation since the early 2000s and it simply was time to upgrade to a more modern version.
