NHRS Update for Employers

NHRS participating employers:
In the face of the changes and uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to let you know that NHRS is committed to assisting our participating employers with any questions or problems that may arise.
Many of our employees are working remotely, including some of our Employer Reporting staff, but they remain on the job ready to assist you with your monthly file submissions and payments. Please remember that the DRS is web-based, and should be accessible under remote working arrangements. NHRS relies on your monthly reporting to ensure timely and accurate calculation of retirement benefits and member refunds, and your monthly payments are critical in providing the liquidity required to make  monthly benefit payments to retirees and beneficiaries. The current reporting and payment deadlines – the 15th of the month for reporting and the 25th of the month for payments – remain in effect. If the logistics of mailing a paper check are too difficult due to remote working arrangements, we encourage you to take the opportunity to switch to NHRS QuickPay, a free, simple, and secure online service for employers to make electronic payments to NHRS. Also, NHRS is aware that some employers have questions about COVID-19 related disruptions to the normal duties of their employees and the earnable compensation and service credit issues that may arise due to those disruptions. The retirement system is currently reviewing recently enacted federal and state leave provisions and applicable NHRS laws and rules and will provide general guidance early this week, well in advance of the reporting deadline for March wage and contribution data.
