FY 2021 Employer Reporting Schedule Available on DRS

NHRS has posted the employer reporting schedules and associated payroll vouchers for fiscal year 2021, which begins July 1, 2020. This information is available through the secure Data Reporting System (DRS) portal.

COVID-19 stipend is not earnable compensation

NHRS has determined that payments made under the First Responder COVID-19 Stipend Program announced by the Governor on May 4, 2020, should not be reported as earnable compensation.

Retiree employment during state of emergency

RSA 100-A:7-b states that the annual limitations on part-time employment “excludes any hours worked during an emergency,” which the statute defines, in part, as “any event declared by the governor”. Gov. Sununu declared a state of emergency in New Hampshire effective at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020. As a result, any hours worked by NHRS retirees for a participating employer for the duration of this state of emergency will not count toward the annual limits on retiree work hours.

NHRS has embarked on a multi-year upgrade of its pension database product, known a Pension Gold (PG). The upgrade from Version 2, which has been in operation since 2002, to Version 3 is expected to be completed in 2022.

New email notice added to DRS

A new email notification through the Data Reporting System (DRS) will be activated on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. This notification will alert employers if a difference exists between the monthly contribution amounts reported on batches, and the monthly contribution amounts actually paid.

Trustees Adjust Teacher Payroll Assumption

The NHRS Board of Trustees voted unanimously on April 10, 2018, to adopt a revised actuarial assumption for payroll growth for Group I teacher members in response to the continued decline in the number of active teachers.

NHRS Employer Reporting Exception Update

May 07, 2018
NHRS recently conducted a review of its enrollment records that resulted in an adjustment to the employer reporting exception, “An employed member record was not found.” This adjustment may result in some employers receiving an exception notification for certain employee(s) records that had previously processed without issue.
